Spring Steels
Spring steels have very high shear strength, despite their high carbon content and low amounts of alloying elements such as Silicon, Manganese, Chromium, Vanadium, and Boron. Products made from these steels can be compressed, stretched or bent and return to their original shape without any deformation. This springiness is possible with the high yield strength characteristic of spring steels.
