OUR HEAT TREATMENT POSSIBILITIES
Heat treatment is a series of heating and cooling processes applied to change the mechanical properties of metals. These processes are used to improve the hardness, durability, toughness, strength and other mechanical properties of steels or to produce parts with certain properties. As Rodacciai, we can apply various heat treatment processes in order to provide better service.
1)Spheroidization Annealing (+AC): Annealing that involves keeping carbides for a long time at a temperature around Ac1 (sometimes fluctuating above and below Ac1) in order to spheroidize carbides according to EN10052. This tempering is generally applied to cold forging steels, the reason for this is to reduce the hardness of the steel to a certain level and increase its ability to process and shape.
2) Ferrite-Perlite Annealing (+FP): According to EN10052, annealing after the austenitizing temperature, followed by rapid cooling, is completed at a certain temperature where the ferrite + pearlite transformation of austenite is completed. It is one of the heat treatment methods of steel. This process is used to stabilize the properties of steels and obtain the desired mechanical properties. Ferrite and pearlite are the two basic phases that define the microstructure of steels. Ferrite is soft, pearlite is harder and brittle. Ferrite-Perlite annealing ensures that the steel has a microstructure that includes both ferrite and pearlite phases. In this annealing, it is guaranteed that the microstructure will be like this.
Ferrite-Perlite annealing is a heat treatment method used to bring the properties of steels to a certain balance point. However, it is important to determine the appropriate temperature and cooling rate depending on the composition and properties of the steels. Therefore, the process must be carefully planned and implemented.
